Mental Health Resources

When children and young people have good levels of wellbeing it helps them to: learn and explore the world, feel, express and manage positive and negative emotions, form and maintain good relationships with others.

What Is Mental Health? - I AM

While rates of mental ill health do increase as children get older, early intervention is key to giving young people the best start in life.

Primary schools have a vital role to play in supporting children’s mental health – teaching them the skills they need to recognise and deal with their emotions, and helping those with difficulties get the support they need.

At Sacred Heart we fully appreciate that our mental health affects how we feel, think and act. It refers to our emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. Everyone's  mental health can change on a daily basis and over time, and can be affected by a range of factors.

Children’s mental health and wellbeing is a high priority and a core thread running through all school activities.

We encourage any parent or child to come and talk to us if they have any concerns at all relating to mental health and well-being.

On this section of our website we hope to signpost you to additional sources of support should you find these helpful.
